New book for the book club!

We're going to continue on with the second book in the Pretty Little Liars series and see how this one continues the story.

Jennie's Notes:
I'm really hoping that in this book we will actually get to see the girls being friends! I've missed that aspect of the show in the books. I'm also hoping that we get a little bit more information about what happened to Alison and who A is.

Michelle's Notes:
I'm really excited for the second book in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and all the juicy details that the show leaves out. The books and the TV show are starting to fit together like a puzzle. What the book displays as minor, the TV show adds to that and vice-verse. I'm hoping the series continues on this path. Also as Jennie mentioned, I'm hoping to see the girls being friends. In the show they are inseparable and rely on each other for everything, but in the first book they have a bare minimum of interactions.

Our first Best Friends Book Club selection is...

Pretty Little Liars (Book 1) by Sara Shepard

Jennie's Notes:
We picked this book because we LOVE the TV show and love a good book series (Twilight, Sookie Stackhouse, you know it!). I'm looking forward to seeing how the book and the series compare to one another and what I think about the actors in the characters after reading the author's descriptions. I'm anxious to see if my favorite Liars from the show (Aria and Spencer) are also my favorites in the book. Lastly, I'm hoping that I'll actually be able to follow the story without getting distracted by what I've already seen. I'm looking forward to what Michelle and I come up with on this whole book club/blogging thing. Here we go...

Michelle's Notes:
I'm just as anxious as Jennie to compare the book series with the TV show. My favorite characters are Aria and Spencer as well so I'm curious to see if they match their characters in the book. One of the main reasons I wanted to read this series is the desire to find out who A is. In the show it seems like the audience will never discover who she is, so I'm curious if the book matches up as well. I also LOVE to read teen novels (I find them rather entertaining compared to adult novels) and therefore I'm always up for a new series. So stayed tuned...
